I was washing the dishes the other day, which I detest, and when I got to the bottom of the ocean I drained all the water and rinsed the sink. Then I noticed something important was missing from the picture...my wedding band had somehow slipped off of my finger into the abyss. I was sick to my stomach and immediately began thinking of all of my alternatives to explain to my husband why I wasn't wearing his token of love. I considered telling him that my green iguana ate it accidentally (and try cutting off my finger to further this explanation, since the iguana would have had to take my finger WITH the ring). I set this aside quickly because it was too painful sounding and not very feasible. I went through about five more ideas and discarded them all. I was thinking at that point that my husband is a very reasonable, patient sort of guy, and surely he would understand if I were only honest with him. With that decided, I felt much better and continued my cleaning of the sink. I lifted the rubber mat that protects my sink, and guess what I found underneath? of course, you are correct! My wedding band, in all of its special glory was hidden underneath my rubbermat. Thank heavens I didn't go and cut off my finger in anticipation of the even worse error.....lying to my sweet husband. See, it pays not to lie. After I made my decision to be honest, I found my ring after all. ##link:264-10454##
